We're grateful to Mark Di Virgilio, Exchange Program Coordinator at the UW Jackson School, who gave us a lively and provocative presentation on "Italy Today."
Mark touched on everything from the Berlusconi political drama to the deterioration of historic monuments (the crumbling of many Pompeii ruins just one recent example) for lack of sufficient funding and care. Mark's talk was pointed, and started a lively discussion.
We filled the room this time, but there's room for all of you next time!
Many thanks as well to the event coordinators, Anni Fuller and Marty Curry.
